Research Title

Studying liver metabolism using carbon-13 tracers in precision-cut liver slices

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a common problem in the United States, and they are usually associated with previously existing metabolic conditions. This project aims to understand the effect of MASLD on metabolism through quantifying abnormal octanoate metabolism in rats' fatty livers using C-13 octanoate tracers and GC-MS.

My role includes performing extraction procedures, cell culturing, analyzing metabolite composition from GC-MS data
